  1. Long establishing connection to the router on Windows 10

Thanks for all the great screen shots. Interesting that when I searched I found different documentation. I'll bet I found wrong docs, not you. Could you restate the motherboard you have including Rev #?

You do not want to boot from LAN, that is usually used in big organizations to handle updates and maintenance remotely.

BIOS updates come with a certain risk. If something goes wrong, on most machines they becomes Bricks, in other words dead, useless non functioning. Some have backups you can restore from.

I cannot recommend updating BIOS as I cannot assume the risk for your device. I've updated lots of BIOS's as a lot of members have. I've never had one go bad but it does and can happen. Lets see if we can't find another alternative.

Do you own your own router that we could put between the telco router and your machine?

    It's: ASRock P67 Pro3, REV. G/A 1.02

Oh, okay. Didn't know that *Smile I'm not familiar with such settings... Then I will disable it.

I will try it if we won't find any other solutions

    Yes,I still have D-Link DIR-615. I will try to make a bridge

  3. Not a bridge. If you take a cable from your telco ports then plug it into your WAN port on D-Link. Hopefully your dlink is not using the same IP range.

Then plug your device into port on dlink. Test.

If they are using same IP range you will have to set dlink to different range like 192.168.15.0

I'll look up manual again. That said it will be later, sorry but I have some customer calls today.

    Ken

Edit 1: please use dynamic ip address on computer, not static.

    Yup, works perfectly.
I plugged the cable into WAN on my router. (D-LInk has 192.168.0.1-100 range)
    Connection established immediately.

But I think it's not really solution :/ Now I have 2 routers. Works great, but it would be awesome to use only one

Edit: Yes, I'm using dynamic. I changed it after static didn't work *Wink

  5. Agree not a solution but we want to try to isolate where issue stems from. If we saw same behavior on dlink then we keep looking at computer.

Sorry could you share the router name the telco gave you?

Edit 1: Got to go. Pick this up later.

Yup, it's HUAWEI HG8245H.Generally, the problem is, that the serviceman came to me, and tested that router. And it worked perfectly on their devices. But unfortunately, not on mine :/
Also, they don't have anything else than that model. So I stuck with that Huawei.

I have to say, that they disabled a lot of functions, so I don't know if I could do anything inside. But I can always send a request to them, to change such things.

  7. Downloaded their manual. Intense. Didn't see anything that jumped out at me except one liner under trouble shooting.

The cable you are using between your device and their router, did they test their device using this cable?

What are the ratings on the cable you are using? Cat 5, 5E, 6.

On page 6-10 in manual, section 6.3.4 the very first check they suggest is "Check whether the network cables match device".

I also have a P67 and my board (Asus) has an Intel 82579V Nic. One of the Advance Options is Wait for Link. I wonder if you have something similar that you could experiment with. Note setting before changing.

Next I would call telco and ask them if they have any documentation regarding the NIC settings. There has to be half a dozen or more settings like "Jumbo Packets", "Interrupt Moderation", "Gigabit Master Slave Mode". Maybe one of these settings needs to be changed on adapter and guessing could take you years.

I will check all of this, right after I back to home from foreign ( in 2 days ). Thank you for helping!
I will tell you everything that I found. Then maybe it will be easier to help other guys *Smile

    EDIT:
I used two cables to test. (They used the same cables while testing).

    First, mine: Cat 5e
Second, from the Huawei Router: I don't know exactly, it only says it's EIA/TIA 568B-CM standard

No idea how to check NIC at the moment. Will do that after return.
And I don't have that option "wait for link"

  9. I would lay this at the feet of telco. They must have some idea how NIC should be configured. Cat 5e is a solid cable.

Another option, and not a great one, purchase a network expansion card, one they will let you return, and test. They are relatively inexpensive.

I joined Huawei and they have a forum. Given they deal with this gear maybe a member there will have bright idea.

They say nothing. Only that I have to set up "auto mode".
So, I need to buy new Network Card. What a weird problem. I never met such a thing.

  11. Not much help.

You said it worked with your old router. I wonder if Windows is remembering something that you to flush. Nothing to lose trying this.

Run the following four bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin)
Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)

After that I'm out ideas. Sorry.

No problem. Thank you for help anyway *Smile I learnt a lot *Smile.
I will stay with two routers at the moment and I still think, it's Windows related problem. Because in BIOS, the network came immediately. I think I should send the issue to windows devs directly.
