Windows 10: Long time error DCOM 10016 and DVD drives missing

I have been reading your forums (and many others) for some time and there always seem to be solved solutions when there is really not. Two of the most predominate ones have been going on even before WIN 10.


1: Constant errors of DCOM 10016. eg:
I just did a new install of WIN 10 Pro 64 bit Version 1809 and low and behold the errors are still there. And yes all update have been installed


2: A long standing issue where SATA DVD drives of any sort just come and go as the please even though they are in the BIOS. Has this been really been resolved? NO!


So now I ask, what good is this forum if it is not taken to heart by Microsoft?


3: I have noticed since congress has repealed the Privacy act things have gone downhill quickly, more and more garbage has been getting through. Does Apple have this problem? NO!!! Does Microsoft and Android have this problem? YES!


Everyone post the same thing over and over again about the two issues that have been standing for a long time and still no real resolution. I have been through every step thrown out there only to remain one of the 100's of thousandths and to suffer Microsoft's inability to be transparent enough to solve once and for all the issues at hand.


So if anyone has an answer to either one of the two remaining problems, I would be highly interested in hearing it.

DCOM error 10016


Well, I am bumfuzzled! I went in to my Event Viewer to take a look before applying the process referenced by Qwinn to fix the 10016 Dcom errors. There were no new ones, so I rebooted several times and still no 10016 Dcom errors! I don't know why, but I'm glad they are gone. Thanks to Qwinn and I will save your reference for future use, if needed.

 

DCOM error 10016 on shutdown

I had been getting the DCOM error 10016 on shutdown immediately followed by 4 SCM 7031 errors for quite some time until the MS August 10 updates were installed. I am still getting the SCM 7031 errors but the DCOM 10016 errors have stopped. Has anyone
else had this experience? I am running Win 10 Version 1511 on a desktop.

Is this procedure supposed to resolve the DCOM 10016 errors or the Service Control Manager 7031 errors? The recent MS updates have apparently solved the DCOM 10016 errors I was getting for "Runtime Broker." Now they only happen for Cortana.

It is actually the SCM 7031 errors that I would like to eliminate now.
