    Looking for folder viewer that shows thumbnails of hidden images


    Hi, I'm trying to save the hidden image files from Windows Spotlight. I know where to find them, but manually adding the .jpg extension to the whole list of files there, then deleting the garbage, is very tedious. It would be so much easier to just look at the whole folder in thumbnail form, but the default file manager in Windows only shows thumbnails if the file has an image extension.

    15+ years ago, I had a program that would show thumbnails of images in a folder, even if the image files had the wrong extension or no extension. It would read the information directly out of the file to determine if it was an image, and if so, it would display a thumbnail of it. I can't remember the name of the program, and it's probably not even available anymore now. (TBH it was probably made for viewing porn images in your browser cache.)

    Can anyone recommend a folder viewer program (preferably open source) that does this? Thanks!

    Thumbnails error for Images

    Hi Myra,

    Let us further isolate your concern by answering the questions below:

    • Have you made any changes to the computer software prior to this?
    • Have you tried disabling the "Always show icon, never thumbnail" in
      "Folder and search options", to a different folder and check if the same thing happens?
    In the meantime, we suggest that you enable and then disable the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option.

    Hidden folders

    I installed `Kane and Lynch` on my PC twice in Program Files(x86) folder but I can`t find them (2 folders with game). But free space on my HDD is lower. So there`re those folders on my hdd. I use option `unhide` hidden folders but still can`t find them. Any suggestions? How can i delete those hidden folders?

    When I run istallation for this game I can see those folders in Program Files(x86) folde.

    I`m using Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

    Image Thumbnails Not Showing in Folders

    I am having an issue with my documents on my computer. Only a few images will show in each folder when I go to view them. However, when I insert a USB with photos, the thumbnails are displayed properly. I did un-check the "Always show icons, never thumbnails",
    reset the folders, uninstalled One Drive but I am still having this same issue. I also tried the command prompts but I am at a loss.
