I'm using build 10147 and I'm still on the fast ring. I did a upgrade over top of build 10130.

That one I'm sure it's cause flight settings transferred from 10130 to 10147...
But in this case I did a clean install from cd.

How are you changing the setting? Do you change the setting then close the window? Have you tried changing the setting then using the back button to go to the previous window?

    It happens like this
So the default is obviously the slow
I select fast then I clicked the back button then I went back to the fast/slow ring page only to find it was back on the slow
I have also attempted to close settings page entirely then reopen only to find the same issue.

Could be a permissions issue on the keys. Are you using a Microsoft Account, or a local account?

The new official build will be out either today or tomorrow. I would just go back to the official build 10130. I did.

No, it is just my opinion, but it was posted that MS is prepping a new build. If MS wants to release this in a tad more than 4 weeks they should be releasing new builds to the Fast Ring a soon as possible.

    Hi there

IMO they need to release at least one more build ASAP. 10147 looks good though still has a glitch or two -- particularly galling is the inability to remove USB external HDD's via Safely remove hardware option. Windows won't let go of the device. (That was a problem with a lot of earlier builds too).

Hopefully tonight or to-morrow. If the new build is better than 10147 then it's almost there as a good build ready for prime time.

    Cheers

Looks like 10152 is now being prepped.

I read in another thread the there will only be two more builds to the Fast Ring before RTM. I was hoping for more than two.

  14. It's a pretty safe bet that a new build will be pushed out very soon, likely (hopefully) this week.

    Hi there

Perhaps they intended build 10147 to be the next - but as it leaked out into "the Wild" Ms probably have re-evaluated their options -- at least they got a "Free test" of a reasonable build -- IMO it's better than 10130.

I suspect that another build this week will appear -- otherwise it's just getting too near RTM --you don't want to be fixing problems with RTM at the same time as people are testing "Pre-release" builds - at least not in the volume of testing being done now.

    Cheers
