    Losing wi-fi connection


    I have had several occasions where I am in the middle of a Zoom meeting and Windows 10 sends me a message that I need to restart for an update. This message knocks me off my Zoom meeting without warning and disconnects me from wi-fi. I can't continue my meeting until I restart my wi-fi and answer the question about when to do the restart. This is a critical as well as an annoying problem. Any solutions?

    Lose wi-fi connection when PC is still on, but not being used.

    I was in the device manager and the only thing I could see was the network adapters after expanding that one, this list came up, which one is the Wi-Fi? when I entered wi-fi, wifi and Wi-Fi in search, it could not find it

    Hi scooter60624,

    try verifying the installed driver for the WLAN card. Realtek lists the latest driver for RTL8821AE dated 06/2017. Is this the driver you see in the device manager now?

    When the PC was upgraded to 2004, WUP may have changed the driver. You may have been using something different than what is presently listed.


    Open the device manager, expand network adapters, right-click and select properties on Realtek 8821AE Wireless adapter. Select the driver tab.

    Also on the Power Management tab, confirm the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device..." is not checked.

    To confirm receive level, 802.11 signal type and channel number, open an Administrative Command Prompt and type (or copy & paste) the following followed by enter.

    As was mentioned earlier, what is the make and model of your wifi router? It would be helpful if you upload screenshots of the WLAN driver and netsh results. Thanks

    After windows 1903 update I don't have any wi fi connection or icon showing and have tried many suggestions on how to get it, but none have worked.

    Can you provide a step by step instruction on how to get wi fi icon and network.
