Windows 10: Loss of function after Windows 10 update

A Windows 7 Computer is no longer accessible through the home Ethernet after a Windows 10 update. Folder residing on Windows 7 computer has been maintained from a Lenovo Y410p laptop Windows 10 version 1903, now can no longer be found from Office 365 Word history link

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Loss of Update and Security Functions

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• Have you made any significant changes prior to this issue?
• Which build is currently installed in your computer?

Kindly follow the below suggested methods and see if it helps to resolve the issue with the updates and then try again to check.

Method 1

A. Check whether the Windows date and Time set to Automatic and synced.

B. Disconnect all the peripheral devices except for the mouse and keyboard.

C. Update all your computer's drivers from manufacturer’s website.

D. Follow these steps to run the Windows inbuilt troubleshooter:

• Write Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.

• Click on Troubleshooting tab.
  

• Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
  

• Select the Windows Update option from the list.
  

• Click Next to run theTroubleshooter.

E. Try to use the Windows Update troubleshooter and see if it helps.

(Also applies to Windows 10)

For Back up issue, try the steps below:

* Restart your PC, post complete shutdown.

* Press Windows + X and select Command Prompt(Admin)

* Type net start VSS and hit enter.

Now try if you're able to Backup the files.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
