    Loss of wifi connectivity

    Hi folks,

I have a long standing issue as follows:

    * I am running Windows 10 on Acer Aspie E1-571 laptop

    * I can connect to wifi with no issue before after a given period of time, I lose wifi connectivity

    * When I then look at the wifi networks that are available to connect to, the wifi network that I was disconnected from doesn't appear in the list of numerous available wifi networks

    * The only way I have found to get around this despite having been through troubleshooting guidelines in Windows, is to reboot the PC

To try to isolate the location of the root cause of the issue:

1 If I take the laptop elsewhere and connect to a different wifi network, the issue stays with the laptop. Namely I can connect to another wifi network initially before I get disconnected. After being disconnected I am unable to see in the available wifi network list whichever

the network is that I have just disconnected from

2 This was giving me such a headache, I installed Linux Mint on to the PC with dual boot. This issue never occurs when I am booted into Linux. Such has been the stability within Linux, I now find I spend much more time using Linux than Windows; the Windows instability is too much of a head ache to work with

3 Numerous other technologies connect to the home wifi without issue. That includes as well as the dual boot to linux mint mentioned above:

    a 3 Android smart phones

    b 1 Iphone

    c 1 Apple Mac

I thus respectfully believe that the root cause of this issue is something related to Windows on this laptop. Can anyone advise me on how to actually correct the root cause please? Any help is appreciated.

    :)

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?

OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?

    Loss of wifi connectivity

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?

Hi Wabbles and welcome to Tenforums.

I've got 4 systems connecting via wireless; all adapters are different makes; all have zero issues, and two of them are old (wireless-G only). Most every issue I have seen with wireless connections has been driver-related. (Or, impending router failure.) I would suggest identifying your adapter model/make, and searching for different drivers that you can try out. And, sometimes an older driver works better than a newer one (just had this issue on a system I was working on yesterday). Also, verify you have these same connection issues when connecting to different routers, just to rule that out.
