Windows 10: Lost Assignment!!!

So this is quite complicated!! I am doing a degree through the OU and they have an assignment template on their website that you can download. I stupidly when I clicked on the link just clicked on open which then opened the template in a word document which I then used to write my assignment. The first time I went to save the work and clicked "Save as" I selected My PC and put in the Title box "ME627 TMA03 Geometry and Geogebra" and clicked save without realising that the location was a ?temporary drive??? I continued with my 2000 word assignment, finished it, clicked save and pressed the X in the top right hand of the window to close it. I then went back into word, selected blank document and took about an hour to create my appendix and reference list as I had a lot of documents to scan in etc. I saved this under the name "ME627 TMA03 GEOMETRY AND GEOGEBRA APPENDIX AND BIBLIOGRAPHY" notice the use of all capitals. I then went to check that both files were in the same place so I could zip them together but I couldn't find the document with the assignment anywhere! I phoned my brother in law who is fab with computers and explained what had happened. He after a while made the discovery of the location issue and said that effectively when I pressed the X button that I had deleted the document, however it should be saved onto my hard drive somewhere so he began a search of my hard drive with Recuva. After a few hours it brought up a long list of files Not my assignment though! but also a warning box that said "Failed to scan the following drives: \\.\HarddiskVolume2: Unable to determine file system type". I then paid to upgrade the Recuva and did another scan of the hard drive! The same warning box came up and my assignment was still not there!! My question is surely a document can't just disappear?? I stupidly didn't although I normally do!! write the assignment out by hand first of all so have no record of what I wrote and was really pleased with my work. I am currently, apart from posting this, rewriting my assignment by hand, but its just not flowing well and I am desperate to see if ANYONE can help me find my original assignment!!!?? PLEASE HELP!!!!???? The location box had the following written in it

Users>rdaym>AppData>Local>Packages>Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe>TempState

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

type in list volume..... your array volume should come up.... if so

type in Select volume 7
assign

When taking a picture with WP (mango) is there an option to assign a name for it?

No there is currently no way to assign names to pictures.

I don't 100% understand the dilemma becuase instead of assigning a name, directly upload it to Facebook instead. Assigning a name to it before the upload would be an extra step. Or do I misunderstand?
