Lost dual boot with two hard drives

***Modify title from: LOST dual booting function on TWO HD desktop and lost ability to run Win 10 PRO.***

Two HD Desktop was working fine and upon start-up showed option to run Win10 PRO (located on a 1 TB hard drive) or run Windows Vista Ultimate (located on another 1 TB hard drive). After cloning the Vista Ultimate HD to a 1 TB ssd I replace the HD with the SSD but when I restarted the system, Vista Ultimate on the SSD fired up and worked just great BUT....following the restart (after replacing the HD with the SSD) I was no longer presented with a dual boot option... the system just fired up and immediately ran Vista Ultimate.

While running the SSD I can access Drive E and see/read all the various and sundry Win10 PRO files without problem so I tried disconnecting the SSD to see if the remaining HD would still boot up to Win 10 but it wouldn't. I kept getting a message stating a need to insert a WIN 10 DVD (presumably to repair a missing or damaged file) but I don't have one and cannot find a link to an ISO file to create oneone ! On one MS site I was able to download a file (it stated it had to be to a 16GB USB flash drive) that I thought would solve the problem but I can't get it to be accessed following the display of the aforementioned error message which seems to want a DVD.

Any thoughts/help/suggestions would be appreciated. Meanwhile I have had to go back to reinstalling the SSD giving me only access to Vista Ultimate.

    :)

    Dual Booting with Windows 8.1

The procedure below will allow you to boot Windows separately or in dual boot configuration.
Here's what I recommend to do:
    1. Disconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
    2. Install Windows 10 with one drive connected.
    3. After step 2, reconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
    4. Boot up Windows 8.1. Open disk management and take a note of the drive letter of Windows 10 OS.
NOTE: if you boot up Windows 10, then take a note of Windows 8.1 drive letter
    5. Open Admin command prompt and type: bcdboot X:\windows where X: is the drive letter of Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 if you boot from Windows 10 in step 4)
    6. Reboot the PC. You should have a dual boot screen.

NOTE: To break off the dual boot setting, Win+R->msconfig->boot and delete the none default entry on the list.

Lost dual boot with two hard drives

    Lost the Seagate...

The drive seems to be completely dead, my computer will not boot if I have it connected...to the windows cd or the new installation on the F1 drive (which is the boot drive now by the way)

Thanks for the above article, im booting into Vista: U 64 right now, I cant follow those steps if the drive is in, it will lock up before it gets that far or if its not a cold boot the drive does not appear on the list.
