    Lost files on Windows 10 product key change


    Microsoft Support advised that all my personal files, such as documents, videos and music files etc... on my laptop would still be there after they updated my Windows 10 product key and switched to Windows 10 Home. However all files are now missing. Note that I do not have them in OneDrive they were on the c:\ drive on the laptop. I was assured by Microsoft Support they would still be there but they are all missing. How do I get these restored?

    Get Windows 10 app not responding after changing product key

    • Windows 8.1 was with KMS license
    • Reserved free upgrade to Windows 10
    • Bought Windows 8.1 product key and changed product key via PC info app
    • Get Windows 10 app not responding.
    Steps tried

    • Uninstall KB 3035583 using wusa /uninstall
    • Restart
    • Reinstall KB 3035583 using Windows Update
    • Restart
    • Click on Get Windows 10 icon, not responding.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
