Windows 10: Lost partition after windows update windows 10, version 20H2

Afternoon,I recently updated my windows 10 to 20H2. After the update was complete, one of my partitions was completely empty. I attempted to go back to a previous version of windows. This was successful but my files were still missing. I attempted to use Recuva recovery software to find the files, but it did not find anything. My boot partition on the same drive is completely fine. Also, my other hard drive was unaffected. Is there anything I can do to recover my files and also stop something like this happening again?

I suggest creating a backup image of your os drive

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
