Windows 10: Lost User name password from small system written in CE

My company purchased an agriculture fertilizer injection system in 2006. Company went out of biz. We have since lost log in and password. Really stupid I know. The software was written using CE. I've had a couple local people look at it to try to help reset information with no help so far. I know I'm going down a big worm hole posting it here but looking for any recommendations for assistance. Thanks

Lost user name in Windows 10

Thank you for your suggestions. No sign of lost primary user name and password on log in screen or in accounts in control panel. Primary user files, as I said, are still present and available.

  How many user account do you have on your system?
  
• Are you able to log-in to the system?

Meanwhile, let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps. I suggest you to remove the username from Credential Manager and check.

• 
  Type credential Manager on the Windows search bar and select Credential Manager.
  
• Now try removing the user name and password by clicking on the credential.

Lost User Account

I understand the inconvenience you are facing with user accounts, we will help you to resolve this issue.



I would like to inform that there can be only one Microsoft user account on one device, and that might be the reason you are unable to change the email address for the user account.



I suggest you to create a new account (Local account) on your computer and transfer the content to newly created user account.



Step 1: Creating a new user account

• Type cmd in the Search bar form the desktop.
• Now, Right-click on cmd.exe from the result and select Run As Administrator.
  
• User Account Control or UAC dialog box will appear, click on Yes.
  
• Type net user username password /add
  
  [Replace ‘username’ and ‘password’ with your desired username and password]
  

Step 2. Copying old files to newly created User Profile

• Go to C:\Users\(Your-Corrupted-Profile-Name)\ (L: file:///C:/Users/(Your-Corrupted-Profile-Name)/)
  
• Copy all files except three files:

• 
  NtUser.dat
  
• 
  NtUser.ini
  
• 
  NtUser.log
  

3. Go to C:\Users\(New-User-Profile-name)\ (L: file:///C:/Users/(New-User-Profile-name)/)

4. Paste all those copied files here.
