Windows 10: M/Soft password problem

Just renewed my M/Soft P/Word, am using a HP elite desktop, Win 10 pro. when I try to re- login to M/soft, login all good until it asks for "current P/W one last time"" ? for some reason this is not same as the renewed one. what can i do as i am not sure of the previous assume they mean this by term ""current"" P/W. I have tried a variety of ones I know.I am also confused between local P/W, Windows P/W and Microsoft P/W. are they different somehow? I could try P/W reset software, but i think its only at User Local level ,I havnt managed to get locked out yet and do have a accou

You can reset your password following the next steps:

• Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
• Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
• Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
• Press e for edit.
• Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
• Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
• Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
• Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
• Type in passwd yourusername
• Set your new password.
• Restart your system.

Hi Ledgeri,

Would suggest following these steps:

• Change the password on account.live.com
  
• Change the password on the phone for the Microsoft account.
• Soft reset the phone.

cannot access new pad with M/soft 10

have a m/soft acc't got another Pad with M/s10 installed setup ok but entered a misspell P/word new pad says goto Accounts.live and change P/word which was done on former unit as no access on new pad still reading wrong password?
