  2. windows 10 installation fails "pagefault_in_non-paged_area" pssnap.sys

I have three PC's. Two of them have the new Macrium Reflect Free Edition, i.e. version 6. One PC still has the old version 4.2. The PC's with the new Macrium version 6 upgraded from Windows 7 Pro and from 8.1 Pro with no issues. The Windows 7 Pro PC
with the old Macrium version failed with the pssnap.sys page fault. I suggest removing Macrium prior to upgrading to Windows 10 and then installing Macrium version 6 after Windows 10 is up and running.

  3. Windows 10 Upgrade and WinBook TW100 Windows 8.1 tablet... three things to watch out for...

OK... glad you found the way into the UEFI ("BIOS") setup in the

    firmware.

I used a 1 TB USB hard drive to do my system backup, then burned the Macrium backup archive onto a DVD for safe storage in my closet.

You should be able to make a donor image from your new

Winbook using Macrium, make a boot/recovery DVD in Macrium,

plug in a USB DVD drive, boot to it from the UEFI and then use the

donor image to un-brick the "unfortunate victim" (LOL) of the

    Windows 10 upgrade.

Macrium is nice in that it gives you a couple choices for your

bootable recovery media - if I recall correctly, one of the options

is for a bootable Linux DVD that can restore from Macrium image

    files.

Best way is to put image on external hard drive. Takes about 30-40 minutes. I would not trust having the image on all those DVDs

    EDIT: ninja'd

A DVD+R usually holds 4.7GBs of data. 83GBs divided by 15 is 5.5GBs. Since Macrium compresses the image, yeah, that sounds about right. The time frame also sounds right for burning DVDs. Now, all of that said, DVDs are not a good way of backing up a hard drive. An external hard drive would be more reliable, faster and it would allow you to make additional, newer images. Something like this would be a good option.

    Wen:

15-18 DVDs are about right due to compression. You have to figure out why Macrium Reflect 6 Home does not write to external USB hard drive.

Office Depot just have a sale for 128 GB USB Sandisk Ultra for $29! Consider buy one and no more insert 15 DVDs and they reusable!

Macrium 6 used 15 DVD+R's to Image 83.01 GB in WIN 10 Pro

IT DOES Write an Image (Backup) to a USB Hard Drive, and I even ran from MR Rescue Media CD and it found the External Hard Drive and the Image File.

It only took 14.54 minutes to save the ENTIRE COMPUTER Image to the Seagate 1.5 TB External Hard Drive (USB) !!

    NOW........................what do I do with 30 Verbatim DVD+R's ??

THANKS Everyone who Helped Me !! Macrium 6 used 15 DVD+R's to Image 83.01 GB in WIN 10 Pro :)

I wonder if I can Burn DVD+R's like CD's and duplicate my Music Albums so my Wife can listen to them in Her Car too ??

  11. Word Man Win User
I imagine that would depend on her taste in music.*sarc
Seriously, though, I reckon you could, but the question is whether the device in her car can play them - probably best addressed in another type of forum....

Use a portable drive Samsung/Toshiba, they are pretty cheap. Macrium takes 4 mins to image my 40gb of os. From SSD to Samsung Portable drive.

Why so much space? Next time around, you may want to partition your drive so that your windows system is on one drive, and large progs and personal data on a D: Drive. I also think that Macrium can image just your system files, but I never used this option. 83GB is just too large to work with.

I "UPGRADED" WIN 10 from WIN 7 Pro and the Drive was already Partitioned !! I suppose I can use Partition Magic or similar program to Re-Partition now !!
