Windows 10: Macrium Reflect errors regarding "Macrium Reflect.lnk" can't access

I followed the link to update my version of MR. It failed with a reference to a file it could not find or access. I cancelled the update, tried to run my usual backup. It failed withe the same error. Eventually I deleted the program and created a new version that threw the same error asking to verify if I could access the folder or the .lnk file. I'm suspicious that i have rights problem. Does anyone know the name and normal location of this file to troubleshoot?

(edit) I tried again using "run as administrator", backup proceed further than before, but failed again, this time with error "failed to create volume snapshot".

trying to create a task for synctoy, or any other program fails, also scheduler not working for macrium reflect either, any help appreciated.

2. What is the version of Macrium Reflect installed on your computer?

3. As per you query, you say "scheduler not working for macrium reflect", are you referring to Task scheduler?

4. If it is Task scheduler, Is Task scheduler working on all programs, other than Macrium Reflect ?

Win 10 upgrade help: "macrium reflect" "uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 10"

Installing a Win 10 update. Currently at 1511 build 10586.1176.

Download and install goes smoothly until it trips over an app called Macrium Reflect and it wants me to uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 10.

That's well and good and makes sense BUT

I don't have that app installed, in fact I never heard of it before now.

All the PC Settings and Control Panel lists of apps don't show it and a scan of the hard drive has no hits for Macrium and only obvious other things for Reflect. I'd run an uninstall if I could find one!

I rebooted and retried but same error.

I ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter and it fixed a few things but same error.

I have scanned the Help community and don't see anything about others running into this.

I have scanned the Macrium site and all it wants to do is sell me a Windows 10 version.

Help!
