Windows 10: Macrium Reflect Free not deleting old backup images.

Hi,
I have Macrium's retention policy set to delete images older than 7 weeks, but it is not deleting them. I have at least two images it should purge before starting a new backup. It says '2 sets found', then 'nothing to delete' - even though the two oldest images were made on 7th Oct 2018.



I suppose I could manually delete the older images, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about why Macrium is not doing it.

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.

 

Macrium Reflect v.7 - Delete old Image Files


Looks like you've got Macrium Image Guardian enabled in which case you have delete old images/backups from the Restore window within Reflect.
