    Macrium Reflect mrcbt EventID 2006 in v1903


    In Version 1903, if the new PortableBaseLayer virtual disk is enabled (and definitely if Windows Sandbox is enabled), Macrium Reflect produces lots of
    Event ID 2006 in the System log, from the Source mrcbt, with the message:
    "Failed to write to the tracking file on device \Device\HarddiskVolumeX with status 0xC0000185"
    whereas \Device\HarddiskVolumeX is the new PortableBaseLayer Virtual Disk.

    The answer received from Macium Support, today:

    Since Macrium is well known for their immediate actions, expect a new patch to be released within the next hours/days. *Smile

    Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


    In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
    I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.

    Issues with Macrium Reflect and SyncToy programs Windows 10.

    trying to create a task for synctoy, or any other program fails, also scheduler not working for macrium reflect either, any help appreciated.
