Hi,

From command prompt (admin) :

Code: dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:E:\sources\install.wim /index:1
Replace the part in italic with your path and *.wim file name.

Cheers, *Wink

Replace the part in italic with your path and *.wim file name.

Cheers, *Wink
I don't have install.wim. I have Boot.wim.
The result is as follows.

I have winver 14393.576. Is the wim corresponds to that or not? I think version shown is 10240 not 14393. Am I correct? If so how to get latest wim?

Hi,

Which is why I said:

Access Denied Ignore this message from MS.

But why not let Macruim create the files for you ?

Cheers, *Wink

Yes. I understood your guidance regarding *.wim. Hence I used Boot.wim.
I did not get message Access Denied.
I would like to know whether version shown as result of Dism on USB is different from on laptop?
I just used Macrium to create rescue media. It created the media.
Where and what am I missing in letting Macrium create files?

I let Reflect update the USB drive and have the same versions as you report. Do we have the correct set-up? I also noted the reported language is en-US (default). Is that an issue since I'm running the English International version of Windows being based in the UK?

Hi,

It will still work fine, it's just not up to date.

Let MR update your rescue media and after that it should read like this:

How to make MR update rescue media? I tried making new rescue media twice after update.
After pressing next in driver page, I get message as

Macrium Reflect Winpe components [IMG]

I press continue and then it goes to prepare PE image.
Even after this, it goes back to burn page and shows
Auto-built windowsPE 10 release 1507 (WADK) -64bit.
I used rebuild option also. Still I get the same wim as I reported earlier.

Hi,

That's odd.
Reformat the rescue media and let MR rebuild it from scratch then re-check the version of the boot.wim file.

Hi,

I doubt it.
I have half a dozen external drives, a couple of USB sticks with MR Recue media on it and they all show version 14393 for boot.wim.

Where does this 10240 version come from? Are you guys sure you downloaded the full version of MR that includes the latest ADK kit ?

Cheers, *Wink

I let MR patch itself with the latest update. Maybe that's the problem?

Hi,

It shouldn't be but you never know.
I suggest to uninstall MR, download the latest version and rebuild the rescue media again.
This starts to sound like your typical W10 where every install has its own idiosyncracies.....

Best, *Wink

Frank.

When I went to uninstall MR, there was an option to uninstall only WinPE. I did that. After that, when I opened MR, it asked for creating rescue disk. I opted for it. Then it downloaded new PE. Now I got as follows with new WinPE stick.
C:\Windows\system32>dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:F:\sources\Boot.wim /index:1

You do not need to uninstall & reinstall.
When you install Macrium and create a rescue disk, Macrium create the WinPE components under:
C:\boot\macrium
This is a glitch that Macrium did not delete the old version of WinPE. Just manually delete everything under C:\boot\macrium then re-create the Rescue disk, it will prompt for download the latest version of WinPE.
A complete bootable rescue disk is under C:\boot\macrium\WA10KFiles\media, this is what Macrium copy to the USB/CD
