Windows 10: Mail app contacts

Ok here goes. windows 10. I add a contact. When sending an e-mail to that person it comes back undeliverable. Then I realize I spelled it incorrectly. I go to that contact, click edit & correct & save the info. Now, when I forward an e-mail I click in the To: window, start typing a name which generates a list of contacts & both the incorrect e-mail as well as the correct e-mail address appears. If I go back to "contacts" & look at the names but only the corrected one is there. This happens even if a friend has changed his e-mal address. I tried deleting both address, then close & restart the computer. Then go back to mail app & contacts, type in the new contact but when sending mail both still keep coming up. Anyone have a solution for this issue?


Also 2nd quick question. Does anyone know when or how to make groups in mail app? I was originally told only 1 address at a time can be added to a mail. If I need to sent to one of my groups I have to now log in to my isp provider aol & send to the group from there. Very frustrating. Windows Live Mail worked great. I don't know why they ever changed it. I still have my windows 7 computer so sometimes I use that so I can send from my windows live mail for groups.

Deleting contacts from Windows 10


When you say Windows Mail Live are you referring to Mail app or Windows Live Mail?

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open Windows Live Mail.
• Press Ctrl + 3 using your keyboard. Right-click on the contact to delete it if it is a single contact.
• Highlight all contacts by pressing Ctrl + A.
• Click Delete located on the Ribbon bar.
• Click OK when you see the message These contacts will also be deleted from Hotmail, Messenger, and other Windows Live services.

After following the steps above, all your contacts that you have manually added to your account will be deleted however, contacts coming from third-party sites such as Facebook will not be deleted unless you remove Facebook from your account.

For Mail app:

Open People app then delete the contact.

Email contacts missing

1. If you open Mail app and click the + sign for New mail > type first couple of letters of a contact name > will a list of suggested names appear ?

2. Go to All apps > scroll to P > click People. Is the contact list there ?

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
