Now when will it support specifying a username for an IMAP account, instead of assuming that it's whatever is in front of the @ in the email address. My ISP uses the whole email address as the username. I simply can't use Mail. Worked fine in earlier builds. This dumbing-down craze has got to end.

    email TLS

    Eric,

Has ther been any confirmation on if the windows mobile mail client has some form of support for TLS? I have a @q.com account that used to be hosted by @hotmail. Receently we ha to undergo a migration to Qwest's own servers. I'm attempting to re-add my @q.com
e-mail account to my HD2 but the new outgoing server settings require TLS in order to function.

    Thanks!

    email TLS

While Windows Mobile does support TLS, I don't think TLS has been extended to the mail client. I'll have to do some more digging around but at first glance it doesn't appear that the e-mail client supports TLS If you're trying to send mail through your
hosted exchange server and you are using your cellular connection mail relaying will most like fail because most smtp servers will only accept mail if the user is on the same network or authenticates to the server.

Given that the Mail App is sandboxed WinRT, is not compatible with the explorer shell file types,
is underdeveloped and not backward compatible, it is unclear what use it has other than real time use.

There are no options to open or save as > eml > txt > htm

Whether the App supports TLS (improved security) is irrelevant if the App does not support EML
