Windows 10: Mail for windows 10

I have Windows 10 version 1809 build 17763.194, I use the built in Mail app.

I have 3 email accounts, 1 outlook, 2 BT internet ones.

All 3 were working without issue until the following updates were installed, KB4471332 Cumulative for 1809 x64 and KB4470502 net framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 for 1809 x64.

Now I keep receiving a notification that my btinternet 2 account settings are out of date.

I have tried the "fix this issue", it doesn't work, a few minutes after this the notification starts again.

I have tried removing the account, re-booting, then recreating the account....still same issue.

If I click the account in the mail app it shows a small triangle with an exclamation mark denoting a problem, however the triangle then goes away and the account will sync, download mail then a moment later the notification will re appear...settings are out of date.

I have installed Mozilla thunderbird mail app and that will use all 3 mail accounts without any issues so I know my settings and passwords are correct.

This seems to be an issue just with the windows built in mail app not remembering the account settings for more than a few minutes.

This install of windows is a fresh, clean install using windows media creator and im assuming the 1809 iso image. Apart from windows updates the only other (3rd party) software on this machine is a game and recently Mozilla Thunderbird to test this issue.

The install is 2 weeks old, up until the updates I mentioned above all 3 e-mail accounts worked with no issues.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
