Mainboard return because of too many problems?

    Hello,

I have built my pc with a friend on 26 October 2019, it has the following components:

    Intel Core i7 9700K 8x 3.60GHz So.1151 WOF8GB

    KFA2 GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER EX 8GB 256-bit GDDR6

MSI MAG Z390 TOMAHAWK Intel Z390 So.1151 Dual Channel DDR ATX Retail

    16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit

    500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.3 3D-NAND TLC (MZ-V7S500BW)

    1000GB WD Red WD10EFRX 64MB 3.5" (8.9cm) SATA 6Gb/s

Corsair SPEC-DELTA RGB with window Midi Tower without power supply black

    Corsair Hydro Series H75 (2018)

A few months ago I had the following problem: My pc didn't shut down properly anymore.

That is: I shut it down normally over the Windows icon in the bottom corner, the graphics card coolers stop spinning and the CPU becomes quieter. Then I hear a soft sound, like it's going out, but nothing happens. RGB Ram still glows, fans still turning, water cooling still glowing. Only the lighting of mouse & keyboard goes off.

Solutions from YT videos, ask him forums, Windows Reset, Bios Reset & more, nothing helped. I gave up looking for a solution and killed the pc (which is not that bad).

Now recently it happened to me quite often, that while I'm on the pc the screen goes black and the fans are really very loud. I have then always waited a little bit but never anything happened. (Meanwhile, nir this error happens daily)

Now today there are also 2 blue screen crashes. Once it was Error: unexpected store exception, then Error: critical process died.

I've looked a lot, but I'm just frustrated now. Even my brother who has many years of experience with hardware couldn't find a solution.

I am now thinking about sending my mainboard back. But maybe somebody still has a tip/solution

    Lg Léo

    :)

  2. What kind of quad.

I suspect you are at "the edge" of the power rating for the mainboard. Perhaps Q6600 wasnt listed due to TWO versions, C3 stepping at 105W and G0 stepping at 95W. Furthermore, if you OC the G0 Q6600 then it will use more than 95W. Since Q9300 is on a 1333 buss, then perhaps the BIOS doesnt give you scope to OC it, keeping it well withing the 95W envelope.

My suggestion is, if the mainboard is important to you and you dont want to blow the power regulators or caps, to NOT OC the Q6600. Take the thing out of design spec (by OC'ing it) and you may very well rapidly reduce the half-life of your board.

Also, as erocker suggests, there are 65W quads out now. I think those are better suited to this mainboard.

    Good luck.

  3. Entered an Incorrect PIN too Many Times

I will try waiting several days as you did. When steps are suggested they aren't understanding that there are no choice...the screen just says you have entered the wrong pin too many times....that's all. Then restart your computer. No other choices are
    on the screen.

Mainboard return because of too many problems?

    Too Many Trackers

Run it again and instead of file list put a dot in "Advanced Report" and see what is shown.
