Making IE the default browser via the registry or script

    Hi,

Is there a way to automate changing the default browser from Edge to IE. We are still dependent on IE and can not deploy W10 with Edge as the default.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    :)

Making the S60 browser the default browser on the N80

It is not possible to change the "Web" browser the default (as opposed to "Services").

It is not likely to change until Nokia does the change, and I suspect it won't happen until "S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1" (S60 3.1).

If so, it will only be possible on new - yet unnannouced - devices based on S60 3rd Ed. FP1, and such a "fix" will not be available for "older" devices like the N80, or others based on S60 3rd Edition *WITHOUT* any Feature Packs (= S60 3.0).

Making the S60 browser the default browser on the N80

I assume that it is impossible to make the S60 browser the default browser on the N80. I am running the Semacode reader, and it would be much more useful if it launched the S60 browser, but it launches the services browser which is less functional for
    that application.

I was just wondering whether anyone had any ideas on this or whether it's just something to love with or wait until a future firmware update (I am running a 3.0617.0.6 firmware version and waiting for software update). Making IE the default browser via the registry or script :)

You can go into the settings and get the job done:

    Hi Bunnyj

I need to automate the change. Typically I would use a registry hack.

    Thanks

In the search bar, type default programs > at the popup box, click Default Programs > click Set your default programs > left side, select Internet Explorer > right side, click Set this program as default > OK

Adding ..... sorry, I did not see your last post regarding " automatic " change. In that case, my method is irrelevant.
