  1. Making sure you are ready to Install

In the ISO setup, this is taking a LONG time. I would say over 10 minutes.

So, does anyone know what does this step actually do that's taking very long?

Would be nice to know why it is just taking forever.

    :)

  2. making sure you're ready to install

    Hi Eric,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are unable to upgrade to Windows 10 even after spending many hours on it.

I suggest you to download the Windows 10 ISO and create a Media Creation Tool and then perform Automatic Repair.

Refer to the following link to download Windows 10 ISO Media:

    Download Windows 10

making sure you're ready to install

I spent ages downloading everything, so that I would be able to install win 10. Than I started the install. It then sat on a screen for 17 hours which stated "making sure you're ready to install" "this will take a few minutes" "Please wait". 6 little dots
kept going around in a circle for the 17 hours before I cancelled the upgrade.

I have I7-3770K 3.5 GHZ CPU and fast DDR3 memory running win 7 pro. I have another computer running Win 7 ultimate. The computer has now being running for 1 hour cleaning up before it closes (this will take a few minutes). So far I'll have to say it is not
worth upgrading to Win 10. Nothing installed in a period of 24 hours, what a wast of time and energy. I've had just about every OS since the old DOS days and this would have to be the worst ever.

    WHY, IS IT SO BAD.
