Windows 10: Making Win 10 'Start' menu 'written list' rather than tiles.

Hello all.


Setting up a new Win 10 PC for my mum-in-law, and wish to make it look like my own Win 10 PC - but I can't remember how I did this.


Currently her 'Start' menu looks like, well, the normal Win 10 one (see first photo). I wish to lose the list of tiled Apps and bring the selection of 'written' menu items - 'downloads', 'documents', pictures' etc down that left hand side instead - see second pic.


Help please

In Win 10 some apps are not listed in the Start Menu

Two of my most used programs are listed in the uninstall programs list, but do not appear in All Apps in the Start Menu, nor do they appear in the Most Used list in the Start Menu. Any suggestion how I can add them to my Start Menu, other than with tiles,
which I do not use?

 

can't edit WIN 10 start menu/tiles

I just did a new install of WIN 10 Home 64bit onto a newly built PC. This was from an OEM disk that was purchased from Outlet PC. Was in an official Microsoft package and good product key. The start menu has bloatware like Candy Crush, Bubble Witch etc.
When I right click to remove it goes away, but as soon as I open the start menu again it is back. Also when I try to add tiles they don't save. So I can't edit the start tiles or list. These don't show up in the Apps & Features list. I have updated WIN 10
and no change.
