Sorry to hear that.. that sucks.

I noticed I was getting this problem after launching TB and downloading emails and now that I have changed server settings in TB to delete after a day (instead of immediately) and changed the setting in the Mail account settings online to not allow TB to delete but to store deleted mail in a pop folder it is working good. Launching TB and downloading emails does not stop the windows email notifications now.

Don't mind me though, I'm in denial here. I know soon it will stop working, damn. But fingers crossed.

  3. I hope you have success with it *Smile

I have been trying to get it working since launch (would try a clean install, but others have done this and say it makes no difference)

I have an HP stream 11 netbook that I did a windows 10 reset on which is supposed to be like a clean install and it has the problem too.

Some of the things I've tried:

    1. Updated to the latest Windows 10 home version 1511 build 10586.3 on my HP 15 laptop.
    2. Uninstalled some HP software including Support assistant and framework and also fixed some issues with new drivers specific to HP laptops.
    3. Uninstalled Mail and Calendar and reinstalled it.
    4. Cleared the notification cache and store cache and also re-enabled UAC to the mildest setting.
    5. Turned on and off and on all related Mail settings and restarted pc many times.
    6. The latest - after noticing that notifications appear to stop after launching Thunderbird and downloading mail, I've changed some server settings in Thunderbird and in the online account area. Now notifications continue to work, but it remains to be seen if this really fixes it.

  6. Thanks for the list of things

I have tried these in the past (except 6 as I don't use Thunderbird)

Will go through the list and try them again, I am not convinced it is a mail issue, more an issue with notifications in general, I have my tablet setup the same as laptop and that gets more notifications (Sport, News as example)

Just a quick update. I have a friend with the same problem (though his rarely works at all) who also uses Thunderbird.

I changed the Server settings in his TB to not delete emails until after 1 day and I changed online MSN settings - connected devices and apps with pop - to not delete emails but move them to pop folder, and his notifications instantly starting working. So maybe there is something to this.

I'll update over the next few days on how it goes.

Quick update - it's working a lot better now but still it did miss a few emails here and there. I'm going to try some other things.

That's how it is with me. It works great for a while, then it gets spotty for a bit.

  10. I'm in the same boat. After updating to Threshold 2, I was initially getting consistent email notifications, it was working so well I considered the problem 'fixed', but over the past couple of days it seems to of returned to it's previous state. I get the odd notification, but more email slips through the net than not. I've tried nearly everything mentioned in this thread, sometimes it appears as though I've fixed the problem, but I soon learn otherwise.

I really like the idea of Windows Mail, the action centre and live tiles are great in theory, but it's no good if you can't rely on them. I've reinstalled Thunderbird and along with the 'minimize to tray' add-on everything is working well.

I'll keep an eye on this thread and give Windows Mail another whirl in the future.

I'm going to try and see if keeping only just one email account in Mail versus 2 makes a difference since my little HP netbook is getting notifications consistently the past 2 days and I only have one mail account setup in it.

I have the same problem, before & after the TH2 update. When my system boots, mail notifications are fine, a few hours later it just stops. The only way to keep the notifications consistently coming in is by running & minimizing the mail app. I also noticed the live tile for the mail app is really slow to update.

I left a review of the Mail and Calendar app on the download page for it in the Store and in the review included a link to this thread and I also sent them feedback about the app with the same info from the Mail and Calendar download page.

  14. Did you upvote all the current feedback items on this?

MS will take more notice of comments with lots of votes over many items with low votes

Yes I left feedback through Feedback and up voted feedback.

I'm now looking for other visible areas like Store app reviews and the report this app link on it and also Microsoft support areas etc to send info.

It might be good for others to do this too.
