    Malicious Software Removal Tool

I have Norton Antivirus on my computer and two or three times now I have seen a pop up in the bottom right corner from Norton which says "Malicious software removal tool was blocked from accessing the internet". It seems weird that my Antivirus would block a tool which is on my computer to help protect it, so I am guessing the two tools are not compatible..? Just looking for some insight. Thanks!

    :)

The Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) is not "built into Windows 10".

"Microsoft generally delivers MSRT with Windows Update the second Tuesday of the month. The standalone version available on this* page is delivered at the same time.

    Hi D4ni3l,

It is not a tool like protection software, it scans and removes malware but nothing more.

These are the different key ways from which the tool differs in comparison with protection software
