    Hello everyone,

Please check my log from malware bytes, is it possible to track/know how harfmfull it actually is?

Short story: I was playing an online rpg and noticed some FPS drops, the game is "light" for my machine so I knew something was off.. I checked my antivirus (avira free) and it had gone, complete deleted!

I immediately installed malwarebytes and kaspersky, firstly ran MB and got this log above, then kaspersky came clean, but I noticed on this log, the trojan disabled/deleted my antivirus and then also disabled notifications and windows firewall! I have never seem this before so I am pretty scared that the machine might still be infected.

What other tests should I do? I thinking in completely wipe the hard disk and reinstall windows but I want to make sure the machine is clean before backing up my files...

    Thank you,

    :)

  2. Good Antivirus + Firewall

I would never put anything Norton on my computer.

Nod32 is arguably the best antivirus. AVG is likely not as good, but it's free and at least pretty good.

Firewalls, I'd put Comodo and whatever "Tiny Personal Firewall" is named nowadays on your short list. I think Kerio might have sold it now and it's named something else. Otherwise, just put Comodo on your short list. I think the current version's ease of use has taken a step backwards, seems a bit counter-intuitive when trying to do certain things with it, but overall it does a good job and the price is right.

  3. Firewall & Antivirus Issues

    Hi desiree!!!

    • Any changes made on the computer prior to this concern? JUST THE UPDATES YOU CAN SEE ON THE SCREENSHOT, NOTHING ELSE...

    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? RESTARTING COMPUTER ONLY
    • Are you getting any error messages when trying to enable the said applications? NO ERROR MESSAGESARE BEING RETRIEVED WHEN FIREWALL OR ANTIVIRUS ARE ENABLED, NOTHIMG HAPPENS WHEN THEY'RE CLICKED

VulkanRT -- Trojan? Virus? How Do I Safely Remove It?

Malicious trojan w10x64-disabled my antivirus/firewall! log attached [IMG]

I believe I may have a malicious threat called VulkanRT. Above is the list of files in a folder called VulkanRT. I have not clicked on any of them. A site called Malwareless lists this as a Trojan. Even though the files are all dated 9/13/2017, the C:/ dir lists them as being obtained on 1/4/2018.

    [URL="https://malwareless.com/remove-vulkanrt-virus/"[/URL]
I don't know how I got it, but I believe I should remove it. It is not listed as an Add-On in Chrome or Firefox. This is a stand-alone computer, not linked to a LAN.

Does anyone know what I should be doing at this point? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
