    Manifests Folder Query

Recently, I updated to new version on ccleaner. Now, before I go further, I know the pros and cons of ccleaner. I use it prudently and I've use it for quite a while. When I update to a new version, I always customize the download. But this time, it also download AVG virus protection. I downloaded from ccleaner's home page and it's never done that before. Any way, once I realized it had downloaded AVG, I proceeded to remove it with Revo Uninstaller. I prefer Revo because it also does deep scan into the registry for leftover remnants. After it was done, I had to reboot the pc to delete some files that couldn't be deleted during the initial process. With that said, I decided to do an Ultra Search for any AVG files that might have slipped through. It found 30 files and 2 folders. I deleted the two folders, but I'm concerned about the remaining files. They seem to be in a windows folder winSxS\manifests. Now I realize that the files in the manifest folder are important and are owned by trustedinstaller. Would it be safe to take ownership of each individual file associated with AVG and delete it.

I realize it's protected, but it seems that I should be able to go in and remove AVG related files.

    :)

    Manifests Folder Query

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
