  1. Manually add people tags in photos

I'm using the photos app to organise my large collection of photos. It has done a great job of automatically tagging people, and also my cat.

Hoping to find a way of manually adding tags to my photos, actually mainly of the cat. Photos has only found something like 38 images of him, but as you might expect there are actually hundreds. Is there a way to manually add the tags? I've tried via the file properties and adding the appropriate tag but photos doesn't seem to look at these. How else can this be done?

It's a feature that should not only be included for tagging your pets, but also correcting wrongly identified people. I can easily remove the wrong tags for images of various people, but they have a habit of being included again later on the same wrong contact, I cannot tell it who the person actually is. I just cannot find a way to manually tag.

    Any help?

    :)

  2. Tagging people in photos

This is all well and good and that does work, but once you go through the suggested photos and name them there are some that are miss recognized. So I deleted the tag but it does not add the face back to any list to rename it.

How does any new photo being added, scanned and give me the ability to tag it? I don't find any option to have the photo program rescan.

    Need some help.

    Thanks,

    Pat

  3. Tagging people option in Photo App

    Hey Josephef54!

There is a way to turn off the automatic people tagging in the Photos app.

    • Open Photos.
    • Click the "..." in the upper right corner of the screen.
    • Click Settings
    • Scroll down to the "Viewing and Editing" section, and flip "People" switch.

  4. Manually add people tags in photos

    tag people in photos app

There is no direct way to do it in Photos, but you could open the photo in its original location on the hard disk, right click, choose Properties > Details tab then add tags there.

What you see face tagging Photos is auto generated. You should submit suggestions to make it possible to so manually. Press Windows key + F to open the Feedback app.
