Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Maps/Calendar/Mail connection problems :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Uninstall (or hide) Calendar, Mail, Maps, and People

How can I install (or hide) the following Windows 10 Desktop Apps: Calendar, Mail, Maps, People?

I use the Google versions of all of these apps.

    Problems with Mail and Calendar

    Hi Paulo Cua,

Thank you for posting your response.

Before we proceed, we would like to know the exact issue you are facing with Microsoft Edge.

As the above troubleshooting steps did not resolve the issue, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Mail app and check if it helps.

Follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Type Windows Powershell in search box.

    • Right click on Windows Powershell and select
      Run as administrator.

    • Copy and paste the following command.

      get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

    • Press Enter key.
After uninstalling the Mail app I suggest you to download and install the app again and check.

You can download the Mail app from the following link.
