  1. March 10 2020 Cumulative Updates Breaking Login

    Background information:

On March 10, 2020, I installed the Cumulative Updates for Windows 10 KB4540673, and rebooted my computer on March 11, 2020, as I install updates at night to have an up and running computer by the next day. On March 11, 2020, everything worked fine, though the update was stuck on 100% for almost 2 hours.

    Issue:

After opening my computer on March 12, 2020, my computer was stuck on the welcome screen. I could enter my pin, but my computer would stay there with "Welcome" on it and a buffering circle, unable to boot to my desktop. Then I tried safe mode, which resulted in the same error, staying on the "Welcome" and buffering circle when attempting to log in.

I temporarily fixed the issue by going into advanced system settings and uninstalling the update. However, that would mean I have to update again, and updating again will cause the same issue, as I tried again a few days ago, which resulted in the same exact problem.

Is there any help for this, to stop my computer from installing that one update, or just fixing the welcome screen?

    :)
