    6280 dual sim mode phone?

I don't think it would be worth Nokia's while. As I mentioned, they are already thinking of giving up CDMA altogether. Nokia's business model relies on high market share generating economies of scale. Their world market share is around 35% but in the United
States (the big CDMA market) it has collapsed to 10% (fourth place behind Motorola, Samsung and LG).

If they sold a dual-technology handset in Namibia, it would have 2 operators and 2 phone numbers, so who would support it?

A quick look on the internet suggests that Namibia Telecom's motive is actually to cut costs by replacing fixed lines in rural areas....

Better stick to GSM. Much more useful when you travel!

  3. Trouble signing into market place

A couple of things to try.

    • Are you able to successfully sign in to windowsphone.com?
    • If you are, there is an option to send apps directly from windowsphone.com to your phone. Could you give that a go?

Looking at the chart I see that windows 7 and 8.1 users were the only ones that switched (not many XP users did but I hope they do because XP is one buggy OS).

  6. It doesn't seem like any XP users switched.
According to another chart on that site (Desktop Trend by Version) the number of XP users actually increased. *Shock

I work at a fairly large company, I work at Wal Mart. We are still running Windows XP on about 200,000 networked PCs. We are beginning to make the transition to Windows 7, and now we have about 6,000 networked PCs on Windows 7. The transition started last year, so by 2017 all of our PCs should be running Windows 7.

  9. Well those numbers haven't really been affected by people buying new PC's. Looking at Dell they still have systems for sale with Windows 8.1 with a free upgrade to Windows 10 or systems with Windows 10 already installed. I have one machine that says Nvidia isn't supporting Windows 10 with my Nvidia Geforce GO 7600 so it won't upgrade. When I first ran the MS reserve Windows 10 program it said everything was compatible. Now it shows the Nvidia card is incompatible and has a link to buy a new pc.

I think it's still too early to judge the adoption of Windows 10. Let's wait another 6 months and bet the numbers will be completely different.

I'm surprised the MAC numbers are so low. Half my relatives are Apple fans. Perhaps pricey MAC machines are only popular in USA.

People in other countries don't live off their credit cards so are generally more careful with their money.

Why haven't they switched? They have to buy Windows 10. I assume a lot of those installations are on very old machines, many of which are not 10-capable. And I'll bet that there are a lot of vms running XP as well. I think the vms show up in My Devices so they are probably included in the published stats. I have a couple of XP vms for legacy stuff, but not only is XP buggy as you say, it is flat unsafe. I am sure not risking them on the web!

  14. XP will finally die out when those systems finally die and get replaced with new hardware. A big chunk of them are likely running legacy programs that won't run on a newer OS. Expensive proprietary legacy programs.
