Windows 7 is still a great operating system. What did you move onto - Linux?!

It's called Linux by the way. I'm running Windows 10 on all my PC's, before that it was Windows 8.1. I can't see ever going back to Windows 7 now. It would be a step backward for me.

My finger slipped and hit the s key.

Going forward with Windows 10 is unknown for me. Windows 7 works quite well, although I do have Windows 10 on another machine. Windows 10 cannot compare to Windows 7. Each one of us decides which works best for our own needs. Just because Windows 10 is newer does not mean that Windows 7 is inferior or out-dated. O/S's evolve over time.

We shall see if Windows 10 is any better or worse then ME, Vista, 8, 8.1, and even Windows XP or Windows 7. Right now Windows 10 is in 4th place. It's too earlier to draw any conclusions about it's viability.

  6. I have nothing against Windows 7, it was great when I was using it. I just like 8.1 and 10 better though. Windows 7 may very well become the new XP. *Wink It's the last OS to not have the Modern UI in it.

  7. Both will always be cited as classics. But I think in time 10 will be also. I liked XP in its day and I liked 7 in its day. But now is not their day. I keep vms with previous OSs for reference and a few legacy programs. I have them beginning with 98SE. I seldom use any except XP (because of a particular legacy game). I would bring it forward if I could and then all the vms running the older Windows would just become nostalgia.

  8. Market Share - W10 Moves Into Fourth Place

I anticipate that W10 will overtake the entire W8 series (and XP) in a few months, unless there is some major disaster.

  9. It will do that just because of the giveaway. But I think it would on its merits anyway. It is a good OS.

  10. W10 has a familiar feel and (IMO) it is far less annoying than the W8 series.
