Windows 10: marvell driver for hard drive

Your motherboard's owner's manual will tell you which SATA ports are governed by which controller. You can download the manual from ASUS' web site if don't have a copy with you.

There's not much you can do outside of essenbe's suggestion you make sure your system hard drive is controlled by the main chipset and not the outboard (Marvell) controller. The chipset on your motherboard is not user upgrade-able.

Once again, any bottlenecks you are seeing here are inherent to hard drives, changing the controller or driver won't make all that much difference, if any.

 

The Marvell SATA ports are the navy blue ones, nearest the DIMM slots. They may be labelled ports 1 and 2.

I always put the boot drive on the Intel ports. I never verified whether they are faster, slower, or the same as a third party controller that rides on the PCI-E bus (or whatever MB interface the Marvell controller uses).

You may be able to find updates for the drivers for your Intel chipset and the MEI (management engine interface). I've found downloadcenter.intel.com to be very confusing in identifying which drivers are the latest for a given chipset. Don't worry: if you get the wrong ones, they won't install.
