  1. Mass deleting junk photos from the photos app

So I have a lot of junk photos on my pc but most of them can only be accessed by the photos app. Is there any way I can mass delete these or do I have to click each photo one by one?

  3. Deleting photos in Windows 10

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    - Are you using Photo app or other app?

If you are referring to Photo app, follow the below steps and check.

[*]1. In the Photos app, go to the folder with the files you want to delete.
[*]2. Do one of the following:

    • If you’re looking at your list of photos and videos, swipe down on or right-click the files you want to delete. You can also tap or click
      Select all.
    • If you open a photo or video, swipe up from the bottom or right-click to see the app commands.

    3. Tap or click
    Delete.

You can also delete photos using the Camera app, the OneDrive app, or File Explorer.

The above steps are the only way to delete the photos.

If you are referring to a different app or form different location, help us with more information.

problem Deleting Junk in Photo's app.

    Hi Jamie,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will try help you with the issue.

    Kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1: Restart and try again

This issue can sometimes be easily fixed by a restart, therefore, I would suggest you restart the system and try removing the pictures again from Photos app.

Method 2: Manually remove pictures from File Explorer

If you still face the issue, check if you have Photo Gallery installed in your system. If Photo Gallery is available, then the picture is linked to both Photo Gallery and Photos app which is the cause of the issue.

If your pictures are also shared in photo gallery, then you might have to go to Photo gallery first, remove the pictures and then go to the Photo app and delete it.

You can also directly go to the file explorer and delete all the unwanted pictures in the Library section.

Follow the steps to go to the Libraries:

    1. Press File icon from the Task Bar.

    2. Look for Libraries in the Navigation Pane ( on the left side where
    This PC is located)

    3. If you are unable to find Libraries. Then right-click
on the Navigation Pane and select Show Libraries.

    4. Delete all the unwanted pictures from the Pictures folder.

Hope this helps. Please respond if you have further related queries.

    Regards,
