MBR Error 1 on cold boot

I recently upgraded a Toshiba A300 laptop (2009 model) from Win7 to Win10. I use a 125GB Kingston SSD as primary and a 280GB Hitachi as a secondary internal hard disk, in place of DVD drive, inside a craddle. This is a single OS installation, no dual boot. When I cold boot (from power on) and after the Bios logo, the "MBR Error 1" appears on screen and stops booting. To bypass I do a warm restart (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and the second (warm) boot loads Win 10. Also booting is ok from a Restart. Again error message appears only after a cold boot.
As a teaser I have to mention that, whenever I remove the craddle with the secondary Hitachi hard disk, the error does not appear during cold boot !!!. That is the error message appeares only if the second hard disk is installed. Does anybody have any suggestion on what might cause it and a possible solution??
This is an annoying situation only and does not affect any other operation, except booting.
    Thanks in advance

    :)

Is there a way to keep Windows 10 from altering MBR on other drives in my sytem?

Is there something in Windows 10 I can adjust/alter to prevent it from messing with other MBR on other HDD

Yes. Disable Fast Startup in Windows 10. Non-MS boot managers might have other inherent issues as well but Fast Startup will cause file system drive issues when cold booting Win10 from any other OS installation.

Windows 10 will not update/UEFI firmeware isn't supported

I notice that avg and mcafee are on your system, are they both installed at this time ?

Have you tried to use a usb or dvd downloaded from microsoft or tried to update

    from a cold boot ?

What is the size and disk layout mbr or gpt ?

    Is the bios strictly uefi or has legacy or hybrid support;

this would be found in the bios options.

There should be three partitions on the boot drive, system, os and recovery.

It sounds like your BIOS is incorrectly indicating the primary boot device. Check your BIOS setup for which device is set for #1 boot option and make sure it is your primary SSD.

Forgot to mention either that I have changed the boot order many times between primery hd (ssd), cdrom (hd), usb etc in any order, but it didn't help.

Then the caddy is not compatible with the laptop. Who makes the cradle and how long ago did you buy it?

What happens if you try placing the Hitachi in place of the Kingston?

What are the model numbers for both drives and are both SSD's? Firmware up to date on both? Any S.M.A.R.T. errors when you check?

Ok - your disk images look fine ie no obvious partition mismatch. Not obvious what the problem is. You could try rebuilding the boot sectors using bcdedit or macrium reflect free.

Download iso from here, and create a boot usb stick (rufus) or burn to dvd, then if you boot from it, select macrium reflect free, click on restore tab, and click link 'fix windows boot problems'.

(You should probably have the second hard drive disconnected before you do this).

You will then see the windows 10, and click next, finish and it will rebuild boot sectors.

Hopefully, this will sort issue. If not, I am not sure what to do.

Thanks to everyone who answered to my message for help. Problem caused from the second Hard Disk, partitions of which were marked as Primary, left out after beeing moved from primary to secondary disk !! Fool me. Therefore there existed 2 disks (SSD + HD), both having primary partitions and that caused the MBR error 1. Backed up data on second HD, repartitioned and reformated. Then using MiniTool Partition Wizard Free marked the 2 partitions as logical (probably could have done it without erasing partitions). Correct partitions screenshot below. Now boots without error, always from SSD. I realized what the cause was, as soon as I posted the old partition screenshot, as per <cereberus> request. Many thanks to him for inspiring me.
