Windows 10: McAfee protection

My question is; do I need McAfee to protect my computer or can Windows Defender handle it? If so how do I shut McAfee down?​

After uninstalling McAfee, McAfee Service Controller and McAfee Validation Trust Protection Services are still running in 'Services'

Thanks a lot for the response, and YES, the McAfee Removal Tool (MCPR.exe) worked!

In fact, McAfee provided me another tool - MFERemoval100.exe and this one requires several steps with switches for every component. I didn't have to do it with the one you provided.

I removed other McAfee registry entries manually after this step. Checked, all good!
