Windows 10: Media creation tool Error: 0x80080005 - 0x90017

I bought a new HDD and I am trying to create a boot drive to install windows on the new HDD. When ever I run the windows media creation tool I get an error, usually 0x80080005 - 0x90017. I have tried multiple computers and always getting errors. The thumb drive is 32 gb. I tried installing before ever formatting the thumb drive (got the furthest) and I have tried doing it with formatting. I tried downloading and running the executable from the computer and from the thumb drive. I tried using a suggestion on another thread to edit the download page using the chrome developer tool, but that gave me a download that I believe is for using a dvd and does not help me at all. Am I missunderstanding this process or is there something else wrong? Please help.

can't get the windows 10 iso using media creation tool Error code: 0x80080005 - 0x90017

Im trying to download the windows 10 iso so I can repair my laptop that wont boot after updating it and I can't because the media creation tool says "there was a problem running this tool" and I get the error code: 0x80080005 - 0x90017, thanks in advance
