Windows 10: Media feature pack disabled/uninstalled

Hello! After an nvidea update, the media feature pack was disabled uninstalled or god knows what. I tried installing it and ended up installing around 4 different ones, none of them worked, I desided to contact live support, 3 different people took over my computer to try to fix it, they couldn't do a thing, 2 others just told me to follow some steps and they didn't work, I can't watch any videos that are in my computer or use nvidea shadowplay.

note: before the nvidea update everything was working just fine and i've had this problem before but it gets solved just by looking for the media feature pack in the microsoft page and it works out just fine. for some reason this time is different

Uninstall Windows Media Feature Pack

I am trying to install the feature pack version "KB3099229_x64.msu", found at "https://download.microsoft.com/download/B/E/3/BE302763-5BFD-4209-9C98-02DF5B2DB452/KB3099229_x64.msu"

When doing so, installation is aborted with the message that the feature pack is already installed, erroneously referring to KB3010081.

However, the feature pack is not working nor anywhere to be found. It is not listed in Control Panel under Windows features, so I cannot disable it.

Version KB3010081 appears in the update history, but there is no option to uninstall it.

Cyberlink support is suggesting that I uninstall version KB3010081 and install the newer version KB3099229.

But how do I do that, when it does not show up anywhere? Is there a command line to uninstall, or can I remove it in the registry?

Help much needed, as Cyberlink PowerDirector is useless without WMP.

HI,

It could be due to a corrupted installation for Groove or the media pack.

I would suggest you uninstall & reinstall both or perform the following troubleshooting steps listed in this microsoft support article.

Problem with Media Feature Pack.

When I follow these steps Media Features are not listed, despite having downloaded and installed the Windows Media Feature Pack! Please help! Can't install GTA: V! Aaaargh!
