  1. Memory upgrade - worth it?

I’ve a Dell Latitude 5490 with 8GB of RAM. This has an Intel HD Graphics 620 integrated graphics card which uses the main RAM for it’s memory. The 8GB is using one of the 2 DDR4 2400 slots.

I’m running this on two displays - a 4K monitor and the built-in Full HD LCD display.

Obviously, this will be taking RAM from the 8GB.

I’m not sure how easy it is to tell how much RAM it is using for the display - I guess there’s some kind of formula to calculate this.

The question is - should I add a 16GB SODIMM to the 2nd memory slot - for about £45. Will it increase performance at all?

I only use the laptop for business, so no gaming, etc - mostly Web, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Thoughts?

  2. HP stream wont update windows 10 , not enough memory

To further assist you, we suggest that you run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. Refer to the steps provided below:

    • On the Start screen, type memory.
    • Click Settings and then click the result Diagnose your computer's memory problems.
    • Select the option to run the tool.

We also suggest you to temporarily disable the antivirus as it consumes more memory and then try to upgrade.

    Memory upgrade - worth it?

upgrade from 800mhz to 1066mhz ddr2 will it be worth it?

I contemplated the same thing, but I think, as I decided, it's more worth it to save for DDR3, something like 1333 is easy to get, but rather for 1600.
It's practically never worth upgrading if there is a gap of less than 2 steps between what you have and what you want to upgrade to.
