Windows 10: Menu, right click on task bar and screen resolution changing not working

Hello there,


Recently, and after windows has booted for longer than about 30 minutes menus start behaving strangely.


If I right click an icon on my task bar it does not appear.

If I select the search box on the task bar, I cannot type and the start menu flashes momentarily.

If I select The notifications icon on the right of the task bar it opens and then quickly closes again.

If I try to change the resolution, the screen goes back and then reappears unchanged In the menu and on the monitor.

Other menus also appear and disappear all over other windows. For example the alerts menu in the Xbox app behaves similarly.

If I reset windows it works or a short while before the problems return.


I have RX480 Graphics card and a Ryzen 2600 system. All drivers are up to date. All windows updates are installed.

task bar, start menu and Cortona not working

Easiest way to fix: RIght click on menu task button at screen corner, click "file explorer", right click your drive, click "properties", click 'previous versions', then select most recent folder version listed before last update. Continue with restore
steps and it should restart when done. Menu task button should work as well as other functions without affecting anything else.

 

Taskbar Stretched, cannot view right area of the task bar

Follow the below steps and check if it helps:

1. right click on the task bar and select task manager.

2. Next click on More details and Click on the
details tab.

3. Now Select Explorer.exe and click on
End task.

4. Now Click on File from the top right left side of the page and select the option Run New task.

5. Type explorer.exe in the run box and click
Ok.

Also I suggest you to check your screen resolution. Follow the below Microsoft help article to
change Screen resolution:

Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
