    Message Popped Up Saying Downloading Proxy Script


    Hello,

    I have Windows 10, and a few moments ago I noticed on the bottom left-hand side of my screen a message popped up in tiny letters saying "Downloading Proxy Script." It may've had something to do with Facebook though the only reason I say this is because I may've been closing Facebook -- can't remember.

    I looked in my Download File and nothing showed up from tonight.

    I have Google Chrome, IE, and Microsoft Edge as browsers.

    Not sure what to do.

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Hi LisaFigueiredo,

    Do you need to use a proxy server?

    If you don't, you can disable this by following the below steps:

    - Open the Windows start menu

    - Search for 'Internet Options'

    - Open Internet Options

    - Select the Connections tab

    - Select LAN settings (at the bottom of the window)

    - Untick the three tick boxes ('Automatically detect settings', 'Use automatic configuration script', and 'Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will nto apply to dial-up or VPN connections)')
