Windows 10: Messed-up laptop setup

I have a major problem setting up my grandson's brand-new Lenovo laptop. I was going through the initial configuration, until he told me, long-distance, that he didn't remember his Microsoft password. So, I e-mailed his phone with the link to recover it, cleared the screen, turned the computer off, & waited for him to get back to me.

It took him a few tries to answer Microsoft's security questions, so it was almost a week before he called me with his password. When I turned on the laptop, I was surprised to see that it had mirrored everything that he had done, ending up with a screen that allowed me to do...absolutely nothing! So, I have his login ID & his recovered password, but there doesn't seem to be any way to back out of that setup screen, or even to reboot the computer!

I held down the power switch for six seconds, then for nearly a minute, but the laptop stayed on. So, I unplugged it, & waited until the battery finally ran down, but, as soon as I plugged it back in, there was the same screen, & I'm stymied.

Any idea how I can get back to Ground Zero, so I can send my grandson his laptop for school?

Laptop with broken screen How much?

I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd
