Windows 10: MFC42u.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

I double-click on MS Paint to open it, and get this error:


I think it began happening after a certain update, although I do not know which or remember when.
I've tried to repair the file as well as my system through the command line, and oddly enough that didn't work.


Also, I'm not sure if this is a related issue or not, but I am unable to turn on my laptop normally by just pressing and holding the power button. I instead need to turn it on through the 'restore basic input/output system' thingy, by pressing the Windows and B keys whilst holding the power button for 3 seconds.

We suggest that you refer to this

I've just upgraded to Windows 10, but now when I try to open most Adobe programs an error like this shows.... "msvcp120.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error...". I've purchased dll file fixer, and it hasn't helped.
