Windows 10: Mic Monitoring for windows 10

I’m not sure if this question really belongs here but I have recently switched over from gaming on my xbox one to using a pc that’s running windows 10. When using the xbox there was a feature for mic monitoring which allowed me to hear my voice in real time, which prevented me from speaking too loudly. I am wondering if there is a way to enable this on windows in the same fashion that its done on the xbox. I am aware of a “mic monitoring” feature on windows but it essense it just replays my voice back to me with a second delay which is not what I’m looking for. Any help on this situation would be much appreciated.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
