Windows 10: Mic not working

Hi I have just assembled my PC and when I want to talk with friends through pc, (i have an audio splitter so I'm just using a earphone connected to an audio splitter for now) and i installed the realtek audio driver and my mic was not working so after several days of research someone recommended to reinstall the driver, which I did. And then the mic was working! But today, after being in a call for an hour or so the mic completely stopped. I know that this is not my mic's fault as i can use it fine on my phone, audio and mic. I think it may be the drivers issue? How would i fix this? I have gone on the system sounds and then recording category where it says mic is enabled (but does it work) and line in which says it is not plugged in, and stereo mixer which is disabled. I'm not too sure what the stereo mixer does so I'm just leaving it alone for now. How do I fix this? None of the solutions online have been helpful at all for me. They do not work. I do not want to have to reinstall realtek audio driver every single time i turn my pc on. Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks

Edit: I tried reinstalling the driver again but that does not work again.

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

Front Panel Headphones and Mic not working.

Hey Everyone,

Mobo : ASUS M2N MX SE
Processor : AMD Athlon X2 5200+
OS : Windows XP Professional SP2 x86

My Rear panel Speakers and mic works all fine. I got a new set of headphones(with mic) when i connect it to the front panel they don't work. NO SOUND OUTPUT.

I updated the audio drivers. I tried a few many things but I still can't get them running.
My default Sound Manager is Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Please help me get my Front Panel working. A step-by-step guide would be better.

Headset mic not working

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

This might occur when some of the mic setting got corrupted.

I would suggest you to try running Recording audio troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Select Recording Audio under
  Sound and follow the on screen.
