Windows 10: Mica effect not updating/refreshing when background and accent color change.

The mica effect on my apps, such as Settings, File Explorer, Paint, and some apps' title bars is not refreshing/updating. I tried running sfc /scannow and updating the graphics driver but none of those worked. Specs are: Processor IntelR CoreTM i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz Installed RAM 8.00 GB 7.78 GB usable System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch Pen and touch support with 10 touch points I'm on the Windows Insider Dev channel Build 26058.1300Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

My background and accent colors switch positions.

Hello Greg,

That link wasn't very helpful. It describes everything about accent colors but nothing about background colors. I've done the other things it mentions such as making sure the taskbar and start menu and action center boxes are checked and they are because that's exactly where I want my accent color.

The example in the link you sent looks like he is using the normal Window page as his background and then changing other things with an accent color. As I stated in my original message I have been using pink as my background color for a long time then I decided to change the accent color and that's when things went crazy.

Color change in taskbar

Hello pranayvarma,

Just to verify, have you tried changing the color of your taskbar via settings? If so, try it out and check if the color would remain inconsistent. Here are the steps:

1. Launch the Settings app.
2. Select Personalization.
3. Click the Colors tab.
4. Uncheck the Automatically pick an accent color from my background.
5. Set Transparency effects to Off.
6. Under Show accent color on the following surfaces, put a check on
   Start, taskbar, and action center.
7. Pick a color that you want.
8. Restart your PC.

Let us know the outcome.

 

Windows 10 Background Slideshow Accent Color Doesn't Work!

This is a similar if not exactly the same issue. The RTM version of Windows 10 had no issues related to automatic color accents. It all started for me when I just now upgraded to the Fall Update version 1511. I have included specs of my laptop in the bottom
along with graphics driver version, and others should follow suite.

The accent color changes to default blue under two independent conditions:

1) When the slideshow changes images, it reverts to the default blue accent color.

2) When the Personalization settings is opened. (see next paragraph)

I open the Personalization settings by right clicking on the desktop.

Then the following happens in quick succession, without user input:

1) The preview window shows the correct auto color where it should.

2) The preview window cycles to show the next image.

3) The accent color changes to blue in preview window.

4) The accent color changes for the desktop.

Steps taken to fix:

1) Turn Off/On automatic accent color, resets correct color but end result is same.

2) Turn Off automatic accent color, chose random color (green), turn On, correct auto color, end result is still same.

I have nothing against blue but a shade of orange bests matches my background and its quite annoying.

For trouble shooting, specs of laptop: (I think people should list specs)

Processor: i5-3210M

Graphics: Geforce GTX 660M

Graphics Driver: 361.43 (released 12/21/15)
