    This is EXACTLY what happened.

I was playing Gears 5 over a year and a half ago, I got angry, I stood up, and slapped the microphone, ya know, as you do when you're a man-baby.

To clarify, I didn't slap it with the intent of breaking it, meaning I didn't use 100% strength. I did a little "you're in my way, I'm angry, so move" type of slap. The microphone ison an arm, so when I slapped it, it moved over to my left - microphone arm still intact.

After I was done with my tantrum, I checked the mic. It worked 100%. It worked for over a week. Now for the confusing part.

I didn't use the microphone for 2+ months. It sat on my desk doing nothing. Microphone arm tucked & pushed back out of the way. No tension on ANY cord, no bending of the microphone, etc. When I went to use the microphone to talk to someone on Xbox Console Companion App I noticed the issue.

So my problem lies within that 2 month period. In that time, I updated / downloaded updates for software, drivers, programs, etc. such as Windows 10, Nvidia, some sound drivers, and not sure what else.

I've used other microphones on this PC since. I hadn't installed any new hardware in those 2 months as it was a fairly new PC build.

    For the things I tried:
    - Made sure in EVERY way possible the microphone wasn't muted.
-> This includes the microphone in the sound panel, all applications, and the microphone itself.
    - Doing all Windows Updates.
    - Manually updating the microphone drivers.

    - Deleting the drivers and rebooting to have them automatically install.
    - Using the microphone on another PC. Same sound issue.
    - Setting the microphone as default.
-> I've never had an Enhancements tab for my microphones, so nothing there.
    - Resetting the microphone to factory default settings.
    - Looking online for 2+ hours through forum posts to no avail.

If anyone has any other suggestions than the fixes I've already tried, or knows 100% that my microphone is broke and hopefully has a theory how, I'm listening. Thanks!

    :)

Computer randomly freezing with loud buzzing noise

Thank you for your help. I ran the tests you told me to. Could you help me read what these numbers mean and what the root cause could be?

    Loud buzzing noise through microphone

Whenever I have my microphone plugged in, it makes this noise:
    Vocaroo | Voice message

While it is possible to hear my voice if I talk, it's almost impossible due to the noise.
It's not my headset that's the problem (I've tried it on other devices with no issues), but it's an attitude one Tunguska 2.0.
The microphone still somehow picks up some noise even when it's unplugged.
The noise sounds like whenever you give a speaker power and then touch the jackstick(?), so I'm guessing it's a faulty soundcard somehow, but I may be wrong. I also have to re-plug my headset on every startup. I'm using the free version of Driver Booster by IObit, so it shouldn't be due to an outdated driver.

Thanks for any help in advance, just ask if there's any information you need.

    EDIT

If I unplug the microphone jack and go into controlpanel>sound and open the properties of the microphone and turn on the "listen to this device" it still makes noise. It also doesn't disappear from the list of recording devices whenever I unplug it. It's a relatively recent problem, it just sort of happened. I'll try to find another microphone to test with.

    EDIT

Well, while I don't have another microphone with a jack to test with, I did plug a ruined USB headset in, and there were no problems with the mic. It doesn't matter whether I plug my microphone in from the front or the back, as long as it's a jack it'll make noise. It also seems like the buzzing is something it lays on top/beneath any other mic input since my mic does pick up my voice, though it's very difficult to make out.

    EDIT

There are times where the microphone simply doesn't register in controlpanel>sound.

    EDIT

Well, I decided to open up my pc and see if I could figure something out, even with my meagre pc experience, and found that I don't have a sound card, but instead just the motherboard. My motherboard is a good, like, 5-6 years at this point, so I'll just be getting a new pc, since majority of my parts are just as old. Thanks for the help, I'm guessing it's the motherboard being faulty do to use.

Windows 10 Xbox App Buzzing Noises

When I use the Xbox app to launch a game on Windows 10, 75% of the time it will either make a short buzzing noise and then there is no audio, or make a non-stop buzzing noise that is really annoying and the other 25% of the time it works fine after making
a short buzzing noise. I have tried to update my drivers/reinstall and everything. I can't seem to fix it. Anyone know whats going on?
