Windows 10: Microphone detected, but does not work, how to fix it?

Since i got my computer i have been unable to connect a microphone, like never. At first i only had a microphone on a headset and thought that was the mistake, but after buying a camera with a microphone and a real microphone on a stand it still wont work. When both of my younger brothers bought their computers, we had the same problem there. We have tried every single tutorial that exists on the internet, but none are working. One of my brothers headset just suddenly started working one day, but he does not know what made it work. My new microphone can detect that sound is being made into the

Microphone DETECTED, but not working

Hey there,

FYI I'm using an audio adapter for my earphone.

The microphone is detected but doesnt work whether plugged in front or rear panel, though the audio works just fine. And I can't seem to find anybody having the same issue

Things I've checked:

• Drivers updated
  
• "Allow apps to use" turned on
  
• Disabled and re-enabled microphone in device manager
  
• Set microphone as default
  

I've also troubleshooted but it didnt detect any problems at all

Is there any other solutions that may help?

I suggest you to run a Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Please follow the below mentioned steps to run
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Search for Troubleshooting in the
  Search box, and run it.
• Select view all in the left pane of troubleshooting Window.
• Click on the Hardware and Devices, and follow the
  on-screen instructions.
